NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism

The Course

This qualification is suited for those who work or want to work in job roles where a knowledge of autism is required or those who wish to develop an understanding of how to support autistic individuals.


Entry Requirements

Although there are no formal entry requirements, learners should be at least 16 years of age.

Structure

The Total Qualification Time is 180 hours with 152 hours of Guided Learning Hours included.

There are six mandatory units to complete:

  • Unit 01: Introduction to autism
  • Unit 02: Using a person-centred approach to support autistic individuals
  • Unit 03: Communication and social interaction in autistic individuals
  • Unit 04: Sensory processing, perception and cognition in autistic individuals
  • Unit 05: Supporting positive behaviour in autistic individuals
  • Unit 06: Supporting autistic individuals to live healthy and fulfilled lives
Assessment

The qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured by a portfolio of evidence.
